Description
The Search and Rescue Transponder assists rescue units in locating survival craft or distressed vessels by producing an identifiable response on compatible radar or AIS displays. Radar SART and AIS-SART versions operate differently and must be selected according to the vessel carriage requirement. Portable construction supports transfer to a lifeboat or liferaft during evacuation. Technology type, frequency, operating duration, mounting pole, battery expiry, self-test function and approval must be verified.
