Description
The Marine Zinc-Rich Primer contains a high proportion of metallic zinc in the dry film to provide sacrificial protection to properly prepared steel. It is commonly used as the first coat in heavy-duty systems for structural steel, decks, external equipment and selected repair areas. Organic epoxy and inorganic silicate grades require different preparation and overcoating procedures. Zinc content, binder type, surface cleanliness, profile, film thickness, curing conditions, topcoat compatibility and repair method must be selected according to the approved coating specification.
