Description
The HMPE Mooring Rope provides very high strength-to-weight performance for modern ship mooring systems. Its low elongation and reduced mass improve handling, storage and winch loading compared with many conventional ropes of similar capacity. Twelve-strand and jacketed constructions can be supplied with abrasion-resistant coatings and protected eyes. HMPE is sensitive to heat, concentrated abrasion and improper winch surfaces. Diameter, minimum breaking load, construction, jacket, length, eye splice, chafe protection, retirement criteria and certification must match the vessel mooring design.
