Description
The Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon transmits a coded distress alert and position information to satellite-supported search and rescue systems after activation. Float-free models release from a mounting bracket through a hydrostatic unit, while manual units can be carried to survival craft. Integrated GNSS, strobe light and self-test functions may be included. Frequency, registration coding, activation type, battery expiry, bracket, hydrostatic release and approval must match the vessel radio and safety plan.
